TideView legal

Terms of Use

Effective August 14, 2026

TideView is beta software intended for lawful, user-controlled live TV and personal media setups. It does not provide channels, subscriptions, media files, or rights to content.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using TideView, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

2. Requirements and connected services

TideView requires compatible hardware, a supported Roku device, a TideView server, and a compatible Plex Media Server for media library and account features. Live TV functionality may require tuners, capture devices, guide subscriptions, network access, or other services supplied by you. Third-party services are governed by their own agreements.

3. Lawful use

You may use TideView only with sources, equipment, accounts, and media you are authorized to access. You may not use TideView to infringe copyright, bypass access controls, redistribute protected streams, violate provider terms, attack systems, or break applicable law. You are responsible for channel sources and guide data you configure.

4. Beta status

TideView is under active development. Features may change, fail, be removed, or require configuration updates. Beta access may be limited, expire, or be suspended while issues are corrected.

5. Accounts and administration

The TideView server owner controls users, permissions, remote access, source configuration, diagnostics, and data retention. Users must protect credentials and notify the server owner of suspected unauthorized access.

6. Updates

Updates may modify software behavior, compatibility, data structures, or requirements. Keeping TideView, Roku OS, Plex Media Server, and connected components current may be required for reliable operation.

7. Availability and warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TideView is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or compatibility with every source, device, codec, network, or third-party service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TideView and its developers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of recordings, loss of access, service charges, or third-party claims arising from use of the software.

9. Suspension and termination

Access may be suspended or terminated for unlawful use, abuse, security risks, violation of these terms, or discontinuation of a beta program. You may stop using TideView at any time.

10. Trademarks and affiliations

TideView is independent software and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roku, Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, Cloudflare, Schedules Direct, or any channel or content owner. All third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as TideView develops. Revised terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
