TideView account help

Request account deletion

For TideView Android and other TideView accounts

TideView has two kinds of accounts: a profile on a self-hosted TideView server, and an optional TideView online account used for Google Sign-in, household invitations, or server licensing. Follow the steps for each account you use. Uninstalling the app does not delete either account.

Delete a profile on a TideView server

  1. Ask the owner or administrator of the TideView server you use to delete your profile and its associated data. Tell them which profile to remove and whether you also want your backed-up photos and videos deleted.
  2. The server owner should separately delete your encrypted photo or video backup, if requested, before removing your profile in TideView Control. Removing a profile clears its access, viewing history, and several preferences, but does not automatically erase its backup. The owner controls that server's storage and retention.
  3. If you do not know who owns the server, email support@tideview.tv for help identifying the next step. TideView support cannot directly delete data from a server it does not control.

You can also open this page from the Android app under Settings > Request account deletion.

Delete a TideView online account

  1. Send an email to support@tideview.tv with the subject “Delete my TideView account.” Send it from the email address used for TideView Google Sign-in, or identify the account you want deleted.
  2. We may ask you to verify that you own the account before acting. We will explain any records that must be retained and confirm when the request is handled.

Deleting the online account removes its active account access and associated profile and session information where applicable. Records needed for billing, transaction reconciliation, security, dispute handling, account administration, or legal obligations may be retained for the applicable period. Online account deletion does not erase a separately owned TideView server's local profile, media, viewing history, or backups; request those from the server owner as described above.

Request deletion of specific data

If you want particular data removed without deleting your account, contact the server owner for local viewing data or backups, or email support@tideview.tv for online account data. Describe the data you want removed. Some operational or legally required records may need to be retained.
